Cuban Salsa dance classes in Prague

Welcome to our Cuban salsa dance classes in Prague! This lively and energetic dance from Cuba is full of dynamics, joy, and fun. Partners move around each other in a circle, performing different figures and elements, which distinguishes it from L.A. Salsa, which is danced in a line.

Cuban salsa also includes Rueda de Casino (known simply as Rueda) – a way of dancing salsa in a group, where couples dance in sync following the caller’s instructions and frequently switch partners, bringing a lot of fun and dynamism.

In our dance classes Prague, we’ll teach you Cuban salsa from scratch – you’ll start with the introductory Salsa 0 class, where you’ll learn the basic step Guapea, as well as the Dile Que No – a key element of Cuban salsa that is used in the end of every salsa figure. In addition, we’ll show you how to dance in Rueda, which we sometimes use in classes to practice learnt elements. With these basics, you can then join Salsa 1 and beyond, where you’ll gradually move on to more complex figures, leading and following techniques, and even musicality, proper body movement, and styling for ladies.

Bachata dance classes in Prague

Bachata is a music genre and dance originating from the Dominican Republic. Over time, it has developed into three main styles: Dominican Bachata with playful footwork, Bachata Moderna with turns and close holds, and Bachata Sensual, which originated in Spain and emphasizes waves, isolations, and body movement.

At our Bachata dance classes in Prague, we teach elements from all the styles because each one has its own place and purpose, both as you progress from beginner to advanced and when you start attending parties. While each style has its distinctive features, in practice, Bachata parties often feature a mix of music styles – the DJ might play Dominican, Moderna, or Sensual, and advanced dancers adapt their moves & style to fit the music.

We start with the elements of Bachata Moderna, as it provides a solid foundation with the most common turns and figures. As you progress, we gradually introduce Bachata Sensual, which focuses on waves, body isolations, and head rolls—requiring more technical leading and following skills. We also incorporate elements of Dominican Bachata, which adds fun footwork and playfulness to your dance. This approach helps you respond to the music and dance naturally in any style.
